Meaningful Beautiful Skin Care

In our society today it seems as though many of us are dismissing the way we abuse our skin, especially our faces. Our life span has been increasing for as long as I've been alive and I don't think any of us are looking forward to wrinkled skin.  Yet having a proper skin care regime for most of us is not part of our daily routines. If we plan to age gracefully into our golden years, now would be a pretty good time to do something about it. Our skin is a very fragile commodity whether we realize it or not. And it's up to us to take care of it now. This entails protecting it from the damaging effects of the sun's UV rays, moisturizing daily and of course cleaning it properly.

Consider your current daily routine. Do you cleanse your face everyday? I'm sure you'll agree how important it is to remove any dirt and grime from make up. Hopefully you're not using a traditional bar of soap. That may be acceptable for the skin on our bodies, but it definitely will not be kind to our faces. That is of course if we want it to remain supple and delicate. A separate cleanser specifically designed to clean our faces gently is needed. What we want to do is remove the dirt, grime, oil and make-up without stripping away the natural moisture it contains. However, after we complete this step, the next thing to do is to add a moisturizer to replace and repair any dry areas. This should be done immediately after padding the face dry so that the moisture can be soaked up right away.

This is meaningful beautiful skin care that everyone should know and follow. Also make sure that the water is tepid and not too hot. Hot water will strip the skin of its natural moisture and preserving that moisture should be a top priority. Otherwise it could lead to eczema or other skin problems.

Our worst enemy can be sunlight. Do NOT take this lightly. If you're a sun worshiper now or at sometime in your past, I'm sure you've heard it before, but I'll say it here again. USE Sunscreen! I often hear recommendations of an SPF of 15 or higher, but I'm here to tell you that the higher the number the smarter the person. There is nothing more harmful to your skin than the powerful rays of the sun. And that is the truth whether you want to believe it or not. To prove it to yourself you need only to look at your backside to see the difference. If you didn't know it before let me tell you now. The sun's rays cause premature aging and premature ageing includes wrinkles galore.
One more thing I must not fail to mention is smoking. Smoking can be just as damaging to your precious complexion as tanning. If looking young is important to you and you are a smoker and a sun worshiper, here are two things you can stop doing today to take care of your skin and slow down the appearance of aging. It reminds me of the commercial about the mechanic who encourages folks to change their oil and says "you can pay me now, or you can pay me later." Point being that the price you pay later will be much greater.  Take good care of your skin now and your beauty will last a lifetime.
